Welcome to all new members!
Please do read these policies and do your best
to abide by them, ok? I'm really not asking too much here - and
neither are your fellow contributors. Thanks in advance!
- Please be kind and considerate
towards one other.
I'm going to assume we're all adults here - if not in actual age, then
at least in mentality. I really hate flame wars. They're not good for
anyone. They make everyone feel bad and they spread a generally tense
and unfriendly atmosphere. I've put up these message boards in order to
foster and encourage people - no matter what stage of the game they're
in. Please don't ruin it for everyone by being cruel to someone just
because they can't see your face. I reserve the right to revoke posting
privilege from those that do not abide by this general rule of thumb.
If you have concerns with a particular member, please take it to
private messages. But keep in mind that harassment is never
acceptable and could result in your being banned from the board.
- Remember to review 2-4 songs for
every one that you post.
This has been discussed before (many times) and the vast majority of
members have been really great about it. If you give, you will receive.
This rule applies to all review forums such as the "Lyrics Feedback"
and "Songs Feedback" forums.
- As much as possible, try to post
topics in the appropriate boards.
This will contribute to keeping the whole forum active.
- Avoid posting entire messages or
thread titles in ALL CAPS.
It gets hard to read. Don't worry - every single post has an equal
chance of being read, no matter where it's posted.
- Remember that all posts are
copyrighted by their author.
Don't copy someone's post for use elsewhere unless given express
permission by the author. This means that it's a bad idea to take a
post - no matter how informative - and post it to another forum, place
it in your newsletter, or anything similar, without checking that it's
alright by the author first. Please use common sense.
- DO NOT SPAM OR REDIRECT!
It's ok to mention your studio or your band or your company's
songwriting-related product, book or recording equipment and provide a link - especially
in the context of a conversation - but it should be a genuine conversation and not a simple link. Please don't join this
community merely to advertise or solicit people.
That's not what it's here for. It's here for actual discussion. If you
have no intention of taking part in discussions, the people that *are*
regulars will know and your message will fall on deaf ears anyway.
Anyone found to be abusing their membership will have that membership
revoked and their account deleted.
- Be careful!
It's not a good idea to give certain information to strangers -
especially not in a public forum. The same rules you use within a chat
room, should apply here. Just use your common sense and you'll be fine.
In general, I reserve the right to remove
offensive or inappropriate posts and/or offensive or inappropriate
posters. I also give this right to the moderators. Please don't make it
necessary. It's not something we enjoy doing but we want to preserve
the friendly atmosphere around here as much as possible.
Beyond that, have fun!
