Caution

Verse

Yellow lights

I think of

Yellow lights

A yellow light

Perfectly describes me

I'm a wet floor sign

You'll trip and slip on me

You'll fall to your knees

Begging

Please

Please

Please

Pre-chorus

Please don't approach me

Don't even speak a word

Please don't consult me

I don't want your mind

To get burned

Chorus

Please take caution around me

Please take caution around me

After all

Everybody says that

You should be discreet

With me

This song is about a toxic person that nobody can handle and then someone comes into there life and they continue to warn them of their past and they're confused on why their staying alongside them even though everyone knows not to be associated with them. I need suggestions on what to do with it because I don't know how I'm gonna carry this along.

Yellow lights usually signal one to slow down and get ready to stop while driving a car.  But, I like what someone close to me once said of their driving instructor when seeing a yellow light at an intersection while behind the wheel.  The instructor, with a good sense of humor said: "Put up your middle finger and go like hell to make it through".  :D   Why would the point of view have to beg someone to proceed around him? Unless the other person is interested as it might apply in what's written. It's a warning yet I'm willing to bet at heart, the perspective wishes someone makes it through, kind of like proceeding through the yellow light, finger and all. Perhaps, that's kind of the direction to take this? Either that or describe this guy, ugly and all and back up the idea of proceeding around this dude with caution. Reminded me of a friend who once told his girlfriend at the time, you don't want to have a relationship with me, I'm a monster.  That was a decade ago. Today they're married with three kids.  So you really could take this a number of different ways.

So what are looking to do with this one?

Actually the story you want to pursue (just noticed your comment below the writing) sounds much like my friend and his (now) wife. She wouldn't let go despite his warnings.

Caution   Proceed with Caution..........?

Verse

 Yellow lights, yellow lights

Flashing but it's me

I'm a danger to your sweetness

 Oh baby don't ya' see

I'm a wet floor sign

Walk with me and then you'll fall

You don't know what I'm about

Save your strength, don't give your all

Pre-chorus

  Stay away, stay away

Wanting to know me is absurd

Why won't you take my advice

When I say to you these words

Chorus

Proceed with caution

Cos I've been hurt before

Got a bad temper

That'll show you to the door

Proceed with caution

If you refuse to let go

If it's me you still want

There are things you ought to know

Just some ideas to add to your mix.  Use or lose the thoughts.
