THE LAST SWIM

The whispering sea calls out to me

Come shelter in my sanctuary,

Tonight I'll swim beneath dark skies

When I grow tired death is my prize,

I feel the lights behind me fade

But I won't stop my midnight raid,

I'll reach my goal and free my soul

When my body’s dead and it's gone cold,

Chorus

So before I’ve seen my moon’s last fall

Before I’ve shaken this mortal coil

Give me rock’n’roll that’s new

I don’t want music that’s been used

Give me something to make me think

Something to keep me off the drink

My arms are heavy, and they pull me down

I'm out too far and I can't turn 'round,

I see your face I can smell your hair

Be patient girl I'm almost there,

Tonight the moon will see us rise

As we enter black paradise,

We'll swim into the peaceful night

Beneath dark skies, our moon shines bright

 Chorus

So before I’ve seen my moon’s last fall,

Before I’ve shaken this mortal coil

Give me rock’n’roll that’s new

I don’t want music that’s been used

Give me something to make me think

Something to keep me off the drink…………

An Old Veteran’s  Last Request

Yonder lies a soldier.

Or at least there rest his bones.

Snug beside his kindred souls.

Beneath the flags and stones.

Duty honor country

Not just words we learned in school

The soldier’s Code of Conduct

Despite the ridicule

Pedants and demagogues

And the cynics though may scorn

We dug deep within ourselves

Learned to stand up in the storm

No substitute f’victory

No need for graveside speeches

We shaped the course of hist’ry

‘Tween hedgerows and beaches

In jungles, pastures, cities

In deserts, seas and shores

We who wished with dying breath

May this be the last war

Those days tones and tints now

They have vanished from my view

But I hear the bugler’s call

And the drumbeats tattoo

Shadows are lengthening

And the twilight is most near

This is truly sacred ground

Please leave my body here

With these men beside me

Rest in peace forever more

Our prayers answered from above

We have seen our last war.

When Men Get Together

When men get together
They can argue about whatever...

Hot cars and cold beer

Live ammo and dead deer

Quiche on a charcoal grill

Movies that gave them a thrill

When men get together

They really would rather...

Tell the tallest of tall tales

Turn a minnow into a whale

Cause all guys love to tell lies

For things of any shape or size

When men get together

They can fight over...

Mom's sweet apple pie

What happens when you die

God's gift of free will

Girls that gave them a chill

When men get together

They sure do remember...

The woman who got away

The one who didn't stay

They'll  have that look in their eye

Till the day they die

When men get together

To sing about their adventures...

The knight doesn't need his armor

To save the princess in the tower

But the knight will regret the day

He convinced her to stay

Turned To Grey

The one I always look to

My one and only ever love

Took my heart and desire

To a place like that above

My passion and devotion

More intense everyday

Each new day a paramount

And it never can allay

Only nearly perfect now

Then a premonition today

The world stopped somehow

As I heard the voice say

The one I’d always look to

Passed into another day

My vision of the future

All of it turned to grey

As I began to shudder

The air filled with gloom

The walls were closing in

Imagination left the room

The world became distant

Then it all just fell away

And departed into nowhere

There's nothing you can say

Filled with pain and misery

Now a year for each new day

Everything I've ever known

All of it turned to grey

The days grew ever darker

Turning to forever night

Looking at the days to come

With no one by my side

My being filled with fear

Staring at a blank display

My senses now evanesce

With nothing left to pray

Never more any feeling

It's all been replaced

As numbness settled in

To overtake, any grace

My convictions gone away

Each one, I’d disavow

My mind began to diminish

Even more so now

Ever ever fading

Everything turned to grey

But soon it all was over

As it all just blew away

Swept Away

Verse 1:
A pounding in my head
nowhere to go but down
just fading lights of hope
to watch my sorrows drown

Circling on empty
the well of life's run dry
screaming on the inside
but not a tear to cry

Chorus:
When the walls begin to crumble
and there's nothing left to pray
hold out your hand to Jesus
and get swept away

Verse 2:
Hate and desperation
anywhere but here
life inside a prison
that rotting smell of fear

Some days I sit and wonder
I close my eyes and dream
the sound of crystal water
flows down a mountain stream

Chorus:
When the walls begin to crumble
and there's nothing left to pray
hold out your hand to Jesus
and get swept away

Bridge:
If only for a moment
this world no longer spins
I look around and smile
a brand new life begins

Chorus:
When the walls begin to crumble
and there's nothing left to pray
hold out your hand to Jesus
and get swept away

Hold out your hand to Jesus
and get swept away

Gods Paradise

"We are all that's left, we got away
That's our starship in the bay
We set our course to journey home
Mars' colony's in meltdown mode"

( Ch )
"Earth used to be our wonderland
With nature's beauty all around
A precious jewel amongst the stars
God's paradise was truly ours"

Then climate change grew out of hand
Pollution ravaged air, sea and land,
Ozone depleted, wildlife died
"Not our fault" some fools denied

Greed stripped nature's forests bare
Eradication everywhere
Wars and famine, genocide
"Don't worry" politicians lied

"Is that the date? we have to fly
According to our starship guide
We must have travelled back through time
This is the day the planet died"

( Ch )
"Earth used to be our wonderland
With nature's beauty all around
A precious jewel amongst the stars
God's paradise was truly ours"

Finale

Man's time on earth has gone at last
No more will nature be harassed
There'll never be the same again
Thank God's Earth is done with man

Odd things

I'm gonna write this song about some odd things
Like Office Parker and that baton that he swings
No foreign affairs or finger puppet Prime Ministers
Nuclear fusion or thought philosophers

Chorus

Although I come to think it's true
With a little forward motion you just might make it through
Cause an action required a reaction yes indeed
With a little friction and some simple chemistry

Morning glory has such sensational stories
Like Officer Parker's Pocket binoculars
Sniding crime most of the time
The tales he could tell, but oh well
But if you care to take a seat
Officer Parker can walk his beat

Chorus

Although I come to think it's true
With a little forward motion you just might make it through
Cause an action required a reaction yes indeed
With a little friction and some simple chemistry

Mrs wiseman, well she married a pieman
Made Lemon Meringue's for crazy Lorraine
she liked Starbuck's coffee drizzled with salted toffee
Lorraine wasn't really insane
She acted out the part, she did entertain

Chorus X2

Although I come to think it's true
With A little forward motion we just might make it through
Cause an action required a reaction yes indeed
With a little friction and some simple chemistry

Freckles

Verse

there are fireworks in the air
and dandelions in your hair
your eyes illuminated blue
but man this feels like deja vu

Verse
no I wont, I wont wave that flag
these bad times must be a gag
I'm having fun out in the sun
while all these cops are playing with their guns

Chorus
sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

Verse
well I don't know, I don't know.
I don't know, i don't know whats going on!
all I know, all I know,
all I know, all I know
I want to lay with you out in the sun
exposing our freckles one by one.

Chorus

sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

Bridge
But somewhere theres a different story
plaguing all of this glory
the sun gets hot at end of June.
And somewhere someone asks

is there any hope to succeed?
As my freckles are exposed
I count up the small victories.

Chorus

sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

sunshine walking in the sunshine watching everybody playing

Eighteen Wheeler (Take Me Home)

23 when he got trained
That very year he bought a rig
Told the bank he'd pay that loan
Called around for his first load

Been out drivin' ever since
Back in Nashville: wife and kids
Country rocks his radio
He sings along, his tires drone:

(ch)
"Fifteen years here on the road
 Shiftin' gears and haulin' loads
 Tennessee's where I belong
 Eighteen wheeler take me home"

Fifteen years and fifteen more
He trucked those goods from shore to shore
And when his heart could feel a sting
That lonely cab would hear him sing:

"Thirty years here on the road
 Shiftin' gears and haulin' loads
 Tennessee's where I belong
 Eighteen wheeler take me home"

Two decades more, took his last run
Dropped his cargo, headed home
A devil's wind
A stormy night
A hairpin turn
Ended his life

...

Eighteen wheels, fam'ly and friends
Carried him to where he rests
The I-24's just past the trees
The big trucks roar
His voice still rides the breeze:

"Fifty years out on the road
 Shiftin' gears and haulin' loads
 Tennessee's where I belong
 Eighteen wheeler take me home"

"Tennessee's where I belong
 Eighteen wheeler take me home"

I Need a Shoulder to Dry On

A simple set of steps this journey's harder by the day

Seems the more I travel, the less I see the place

Even though I've asked for Betty Ford to be my guide

Another spirit's always there to captivate my stride

I am a friend of Bill but I’ve been known to shut him out

When we don’t talk I backslide as I toss away the towel

And even as I try to fight this turmoil I despise

Another spirit's always there to wet my appetite

I'm tired but its such easy courage

Summer blizzards and wired dawns

Suitcases are always packed

I need a shoulder to dry on

Been in and out of fog and lost the sense of what is real

I tried the straight and narrow path, within a few degrees

But even as I'm hanging on I’m close to compromised

Another spirit's always there to tempt and tantalize

I'm tired but its such easy courage

Summer blizzards and wired dawns

Suitcases are always packed

I need a shoulder to dry on

This wagon's lost its wheels, I need a ride my friend

I'm trying so very very hard but I've fallen off again

I'm tired but its such easy courage

Summer blizzards and wired dawns

Suitcases are always packed

I need a shoulder to dry on

I know I carry burdens, it’s so hard to lift my weight

But if you'll try I'll try to make it lighter by the day

And if I stumble, I hope you'll hold me up awhile

And be the spirit always there to get me through the night

I'm tired but its such easy courage

Summer blizzards and wired dawns

Suitcases are always packed

I need a shoulder to dry on

Eleanor Robot

Eleanor robot, lifts up the box to be moved by conveyors and belts

No guilt is felt

Look at her working, doing the jobs of  the humans for 3 shifts a day

All with out pay

All the jobless people, what job did they come from

All the jobless people, where do they all belong

Robot Mc Uber  replaces a human named  Steven that once drove this truck

 Steve's  out of luck

Drives past the shelter, not seeing that Steve is now cursing and shaking his fist

He wont be missed

All the jobless people, what job did they come from

All the jobless people, where do they all belong

Robot Mc Dozer, tears down the Macys and Penny's that anchored the mall

Flattens them all

Pushes the ruble, into the pile that was block buster, now long since gone

Gone amazon

All the jobless people, whatever shall they do

All the jobless people, when will they include you`

Friendship Hurts If You Do It Right

V1

We were best friends all through grade school

Brave explorers in the park

Built a fort down by the river

She was Lewis, I was Clark

Then her Daddy got a new job

First time I encountered fate

I learned something about friendship

I did not anticipate

Chorus

Friendship hurts if you do it right

One of you leaves, one stays behind

You understand why and youll always be friends

But its never the same when the day-to-day ends

Friendship hurts, friendship hurts

Friendship hurts if you do it right

V2

Jennie stormed in like a SWAT team

We shared books and boys and beer

Listening to her secrets

Was like looking in the mirror

She stayed on to get her master’s

I took a job out on the coast

When I hear two girlfriends laughing

That’s when I miss her the most

Chorus

Friendship hurts if you do it right

One of you leaves, one stays behind

You understand why and youll always be friends

But its never the same when the day-to-day ends

Friendship hurts, friendship hurts

Friendship hurts if you do it right

V3

I’ve had coffee twice a week with

Mary Ann for thirty years

We’ve had every conversation

About marriage and careers

She’s the kind of friend who gets me

It took years to build this trust

She’s been gone about a month now

And its hard to readjust

Chorus

Friendship hurts if you do it right

One of you leaves, one stays behind

You understand why and youll always be friends

But its never the same when the day-to-day ends

Friendship hurts, friendship hurts

Friendship hurts if you do it right

Bridge:

Dive in or hold back?

You have to decide

Cause friendship hurts if you do it right

Chorus

Friendship hurts if you do it right

One of you leaves, one stays behind

You understand why and youll always be friends

But its never the same when the day-to-day ends

Friendship hurts, friendship hurts

Friendship hurts if you do it right

I’m Done

Ch:

I’m done with gorgeous girls

Flashing their pearly whites

I’m done with hot babes

And their tight bikini bods

I’m done really done

Till the next pretty face comes around

V:

She said her car just broke down

And needed a ride to work

Gave me a wink and a big ole cute smile

Said she would surely make it worth my while

Me I’m just the kind of guy

A sucker for a sad story

Told her would pick her up and take her home

Played me like a dog fetching a pretend bone

Ch:

I’m done with gorgeous girls

Flashing their pearly whites

I’m done with hot babes

And their tight bikini bods

I’m done really done

Till the next pretty face comes around

V:

She said she needed a place

Be only for a few days

Her skin tight pants in my estimation

Left nothing to the imagination

Took 4 months to get her out

Left my place in a big mess

Every day was like a living nightmare

My bad the signs were all saying beware

Ch:

I’m done with gorgeous girls

Flashing their pearly whites

I’m done with hot babes

And their tight bikini bods

I’m done really done

Till the next pretty face comes around

Br:

She wore a mini and said hi

Fade:

I’m done I said I’m done

By the way what’s your name

Oh you’re in between jobs

My Little One

Verse 1

Where did you run to my little one, little one

Where did you run to my little one fair?

What did you do there my little one, little one

What did you do there my little one there?

You tottered out the room holding tail of Tabby cat

He’s king of your high chair now, well imagine that!

Verse 2

Now you are giggling my little one, little one

Now you are giggling my little one fair

Now you’ve gone quiet my little one, little one

Now you’ve gone quiet my little one Claire

I peeked around the corner, made sure that you’re all right

You’d opened up the cupboard, climbed in out of sight

Bridge

These times of joy, I’ll cherish for ever

These times of fun, such innocence and pleasure

Outside, worlds may collide

But here with you every thing’s right

Verse 3

Now it is bath time my little one, little one

Now it is bath time my little one fair

Now you’re splashing my little one, little one

Now you’re splashing my little one bare

Yellow ducks bobbing round you on seas of bubbly white

And now’s come the time to hug you goodnight

Sweet Margarita

Verse 1

Down on River Road

I carved our names in a sweet gum tree

Fragrant scars, time eroded,

Etched expressions of a dream

Verse 2

It was our sixteenth summer

We were barefoot and full of love

Braiding dandelion necklaces

Cooing like turtledoves

Chorus

Sweet, sweet Margarita

The wind whispers your name

Sweet, sweet Margarita

I still love you the same

Bridge

Words etched can last a lifetime

It’s just the same with love

Sugar sweetens the lime

Salt has nothing to prove

Chorus

Sweet, sweet Margarita

The wind whispers your name

Sweet, sweet Margarita

I still love you the same

PARADE

Most of us are used to being sprayed
So you might as well put down that can of Raid
One line marching in and one line out your KitchenAid
Try not to trample our parade

I remember when I used to be like you
Get home from work and then knock back a few
Flip a switch, and all the roaches scattered from my view
And I used to flatten anthills with my shoe

Bridge:       Empires rise, empires fall
                 Universes come and go
Just for awhile, you’re king of it all
As any living ant would know

So remember when you see our cavalcade
We are working through some choices we have made
When you see us crawling up your glass of lemonade
Try not to trample our parade

Mama’s Little Girl

Mama you treat me like a child

Though I’m old enough to date

You think I’m still your little girl

With freckles and pigtails

But mama please sit down

‘Cause what I say may be a shock

Tonight mama’s little girl grew up

Mama stop your crying

Please try and understand

You raised me right ‘n taught me well

But I’ve met a special man

He’s kind ‘n sweet ‘n gentle

And his smile makes me blush

Tonight mama’s little girl grew up

(Chorus)

Yes, tonight mama’s little girl grew up

I learned about the facts of life

I know what loves about

That little girl that mama raised

Now has a woman’s touch

Tonight mama’s little girl grew up

Mama you know I love you

I would never cause you pain

But when a heart feels the way mine does

There ain’t no one to blame

Just be happy for me mama

And please try not to judge

Tonight mama’s little girl grew up

(Ch)

Yes, tonight mama’s little girl grew up

I learned about the facts of life

I know what loves about

That little girl that mama raised

Now has a woman’s touch

Yes, tonight mama’s little girl grew up

(Bridge)

I never thought I’d ever feel this way I do

And mama put your mind at ease

We’re moving in with you

(Instrumental)

(Ch)

Tonight mama’s little girl grew up

I learned about the facts of life

I know what loves about

That little girl that mama raised

Now has a woman’s touch

Yes, tonight mama’s little girl grew up

Here Comes The Night

(Intro)
My love for you grows stronger every day
And though the night approaches
I don't want to go away.
You wear a smile for me
That hints at better days,
But the dogs of war are loose
And we are mere strays.

(Verse 1)
Your dress falls to the floor
And lies crumpled in a heap,
My breath ghosts to the night
And the chill rattles my teeth.
We have this and only this
Who could want for any more?
The wolves howl a sad lament
As I await the battle call.

(Verse 2)
Your eyes have seen it all
From peering into the deep,
I melt into their pools
And forget the lives we lead.
We have this, yeah only this
Who could want any more?
You teeter on the edge
But I'll catch you if you fall.

(Chorus)
There goes the day
Here comes the night
There goes the day
Here comes the night
Brace yourselves my friends
Hold your loved ones tight

(Bridge)

Destruction looms
See the tsunamis fall,
Soon the waves will break
The tiny matchsticks of your barrier walls.
Tin hats for radiation
Sandbags to hold the storm,
Too late to save our nations
Everything must go.

(Chorus)
There goes the day
Here comes the night
There goes the day
Here comes the night
Brace yourselves my friends
Hold your loved ones tight

(Verse 3)
My story's told
I’ll lie six feet below,
My tale carried on the wind
Over blasted heath and frigid snow.
Lovers and lunatics
In their defiant last stands,
Quarrying dirt ‘til the end
As we bury the story of man.

(Chorus)
There goes the day
Here comes the night
There goes the day
Here comes the night
Brace yourselves my friends
Hold your loved ones tight

Center Me Around You

In the past
I moved fast
Always on the run
Body ached
Temper baked
Hotter than the sun

Center me in a place
Where I'm relaxed
Next to you
On this day
We'll never fade
Center me around you

At this time
I must climb
Mountainous terrain
Thoughts still race
Constant pace
Everythings a strain

Center me in a place
Where I'm relaxed
Next to you
On this day
We'll never fade
Center me around you

Sometime soon
Flowers bloom
Weathering the storm
Trying hard
To get through
Hoping love will form

Center me in a place
Where I'm relaxed
Next to you
On this day
We'll never fade
Center me around you

Six More Days 'Till Sunday

V1:
Sunday,... singin' with the preacher, I was feeling so upright
Listnin' to him read the gospels ..finally.. I had seen the light
Felt I'd found my righteous future...., things were lookin' clear and bright
Then Pearl came by that evening... and stayed the whole damn night

Chorus:
Now it's six more days till Sunday ..I'm running low on prayers
The neighbors hear us howlin', think some Devil lives upstairs
I gotta take it easy.... to make it through the week
'Cause I'm without a paddle, and I'm six days up the creek

V2:
She hit me like a hammer that's pounding on a nail
Half the things flashed through my mind.. would end me up in jail
Out went my good intentions ...with that ol' kitchen sink
Kissin' her sweet lips and wondrin' what was left to drink

Bridge:
She's knocking on my door again, my mind fills up with sin
It ain't polite to make her wait...I've got to let her in

V3:
Maybe I can stop by church today, I'll sneak out on my break
And ask the Lord what I can do... to clean up my mistakes
Not sure how I'll do it, 'cause she's sure on a tear
With six more days 'till Sunday  I'm nearly out of prayers

Instrumental

Chorus:
Now it's six more days till Sunday ..I'm running low on prayers
The neighbors hear us howlin', think some Devil lives upstairs
I gotta take it easy.... to make it through the week
'Cause I'm without a paddle, and I'm six days up the creek

We Want It All

Call me demon
Call me saint
Ain’t have no weapon
To beat my’a soul

Feel the strings
Leave the things
Don’t watch yah,
How they do their fucking lives

We want it all
We want it all
And please my dear
Don’t let me fear x2

Vibe the roots of universe
Recognize that animal in us
Souls, spirits and majestic beings
Sort out between all truths

We want it all
We want it all
And please my dear
Don’t let me fear! X2

Lay Me Down Easy

C
Lay me down easy
Into my forever sleep
Already I smell flowers
And hear waters running deep
I’ve never felt so weary
The climb’s become too steep
So lay me down easy
Into my forever sleep

V
I had an uphill journey
From the minute I was born
My father found somebody else
My family was torn
My mother worked both day and night
And slept when she was home
I grew up barely knowing her
And raised myself alone

C
Lay me down easy
Into my forever sleep
Already I smell flowers
And hear waters running deep
I’ve never felt so weary
The climb’s become too steep
So lay me down easy
Into my forever sleep

V
I crossed so many rivers
That finally I lost track
’Cause forward seemed the only way
There’d be no turning back
Cold nights spent under bridges
And days that moved so fast
I never had the time to stop
And feel the moment pass

(Instrumental)

V
The doctors say its hopeless
As they pronounce the name
Of some disease that’s bearing me
On an agonizing train
The train is merely crawling
The destination’s known
But how much more must I go through
Before my final home?

C
Lay me down easy
Into my forever sleep
Already I smell flowers
And hear waters running deep
I’ve never felt so weary
The climb’s become too steep
So lay me down easy
Into my forever sleep

B
I’m dreaming of a garden by a river in the sky
Scent of blossoms blowing on the breeze
I’m not expecting angels or a horn that blows on high
All I’m hoping for is sweet release
From troubles that have plagued me and pain that makes me cry
All I’m hoping for is lasting peace

(Instrumental)

C
Lay me down easy
Into my forever sleep
Already I smell flowers
And hear waters running deep
I’ve never felt so weary
The climb’s become too steep
So lay me down easy
Into my forever sleep
(Repeat)

Shipwrecked

You can smoke my cigarettes

Drink my beer

Honey, you sure could steal a kiss

Nonetheless, my dear

You'll never take my heart

From where it rests...

Buried in my chest

You might own an old photograph

That shows my smile

Honey, I know we shared a laugh or two

You make life truly worthwhile

But you'll never take my heart

From where it rests...

Buried in my chest

You can charter a ship

To uncharted lands

You can dig on the X

But what good is the map

We never stood at chance

At happiness

In these ancient ruins

Of old relationship wrecks

And you'll never take my heart

From where it rests...

Buried in my chest

Oh, my goodness!  I am just stunned!  I'm sitting here, staring at those results and I can hardly believe it!  Thank you all for such generous votes!  I thought there were SO many good lyrics this month that I was hoping just to hang on by my fingernails.  I am overwhelmed.

Congrats to LyriCal and Kuya for the fine showing. I also really liked Eighteen Wheeler, Eleanor Robot, My Little One, and Six More Days till Sunday.

I think I'll go buy a Lotto ticket.

Congratulations Peko and Lyrical and Paul. Well done and well deserved! There really was a lot of great material again this month.  It was a crowded field indeed. And thanks to those who liked  An Old Veteran.

Lyrical wrote my favorite this month, but Peko’s was next along with some other favorites (in no particular order) swept away, turned to grey,  sweet margarita, my little one, and six more days.

Some top notch stuff most just a tweak or two away.  I thought Robot was kinda clever too but because it was a retake of a Beatle song, I had to deduct points for originality. I’m sure that’s what hurt it.

Wow, one of the best month's lyrics I've seen here on the muse - so many cracking entries! :):)

Congratulations to Peko, LyricCal and Kuya - fine entries.

My favourites this month in no particular order:

An "Old Veterans Last Request", "The Last Swim", "God's Paradise", "Eighteen Wheeler", "Parade" (what an original perspective here!), "Mama's Little Girl", "Six More Days 'til Sunday" (very strong entry here, shame it was disqualified) and "Shipwrecked"

Thanks Iggy for organising. Another monster entry month - lyrics rule the muse at the mo!

Congratulations to Patty! I'm enjoying your reaction and have to tell you that your lyric had my top score -- it's a superb lyric and not a topic discussed in songs all that much, certainly not on the Muse. I don't know how long you've been active here but you contribute a lot and have made yourself a valuable member of the community.

Congratulations also to kuya!

Thanks to everyone for your votes for Lay Me Down Easy.

Other lyrics that I thought were particularly well done included I Need a Shoulder to Dry On, Swept Away, and Mama's Little Girl. Six More Days was another standout but I'm guessing that it's an iggy special and that's why it was disqualified.

Speaking of iggy, thank you again so much for putting this together. The lyric contests seem to be growing exponentially and I know it must be a lot of work to do all the tabulating and everything else. You're awesome!

Congratulations Peko, LyriCAL and Kuya! Top-flight lyrics all. Another one I liked very much was When Men Get Together. Crowded fields are exciting! It's wonderful to see comps doing well on the Muse since we cut the cord from Jodi.

Agree with Joan -

I hope to be back to the competitions soon (hosting, participating) - I have been out of action trying to get my home rebuilt after hurricane Harvey...
