Problem with Emoticons when Previewing Posts

Recommended Posts

Every time I include an Emoticon in a post or reply, i always get a 'slash greater than sign' /> following the Emoticon.

I've noticed this with a few other Muser's replies as well.

Is anyone NOT having this problem?

I'm using Firefox' latest browser version.

And funny that I just tried to add an Emoticon and i did NOT get the />.

Welcome to the Twilight Zone.

Me, too. I've noticed they appear if I go back to the line with the emoticon, or if I attempt to edit a post, even if I don't make any changes.

At first I thought it was due to my own ineptness with the computer, then I thought maybe Lazz had something to do with it when he posted this, from the "The Secret to Writing a Great Song" thread.

Trouble is that I am also allergic to emoticons. Can't use them. Not allowed. I'm an interventionist. Emoticon-dependency ruins lives. Especially those of putative writers. They are the most susceptible. But if folk can truly only parse the written word (and its contents) when it has a little smiley face next to it then luckily we do have a team on call ready to deliver rehabilitative therapy and a dictionary.

I hereby paint this post with a large

smile.

Not sure what's the cause of it. Maybe time to get hold of those IT guys. Jodi ?

Jodi, is there an Information Technology guy in the house?

Still having, as i can see others are still having, the same problems.

Or is this a conspiracy from those Emoticommunists around here that don't appreciate other forms of communication? :P:lol:
