Theresa

For My Hubby

Swaying Cypress

Draped in moss

Clear blue skies

White clouds aloft

Out my window

each new day

Is what I see

While here I lay

Healing hands

healed my heart

my God gave me

A brand new start

Theresa Loder

I wrote this for my hubby while he was recouperating from open heart surgery..

Hi Theresa,

How is your husband doing?

If he's getting help from you and God then i have no doubt he is recuperating rather well. :)

While I have to drive down my street to catch a glimpse of the cypress and moss, I look

out each morning on a Jasmine tree right outside my window and even if the windows are closed

I can smell the gentle fragrance given off by those lovely petite white flowers.

Your imagery as well as spirituality is very nice to hear.

Thanks for posting. :)

oxe57, surfer, R-N-R Jim, DannyDep,

Thank you for stopping by my post and commenting. This was written in the

moment. My hubby is doing great now. Five months on his back and just

a month and a half was in a hoyer lift, is now walking down our street every day

and feeling great.

Really appreciate your comments. Yes I remember the jasmine when we lived in Tampa. Wonderful.

Take care

Theresa

You have a brilliant poem here. The first four lines are not true rhymes but they work so well. It flows with a quick paced rhythm. The repition of heal works so well. Normally I hate to use the same word twice but here it nails down the theme of the poem. When you don't rhyme it sets you up for the next rhyme. Kinda like one for you one for me. The poem starts painting pictures opening the imagination to anything then you limit it by outside the window. It speaks volumes of the kindness of God by example and it's not preachy. Finally when you tell me what it was written for I can clearly see everything. You husband is sitting day after day looking out the window at the scenic sights all the while so greatful for the success of the surgery and thanking God for the healing. Love, John Kaniecki
