NECTAR OF INSPIRATION

- Music by SimpleSimon

- Words by Stewart, David, Hobes, Rustic Bucket, John Fitzgerald, Simple Simon and Alister

VERSE 1

wasted long and lonely nights

crumpled scraps of paper

lie discarded

broken threads of words

that promise hope but leave me standing

where i started

RISE 1

I'm trying so hard to sing one simple truth; it evades me

I open my heart and the quiet voice inside persuades me

to

CHORUS

have a beer

the song sounds much better

after beer

have a beer

the words come together

with a beer

VERSE 2

typing dust from all your pores

tired phrases leaking

from your fingers

you and I've been been through all that

trying to make an honest song for singers

RISE 2

but answers emerge out of nowhere at times like a river

and these are the times you hang on to and capture forever

(Chorus)

BRIDGE

don't just stew around and whine

beers the drink to help unwind

once you've had a brew or two

inspiration comes to you

be it lager, be it ale

that amber nectar never fails

so if your stuck and can't create

just knock back the whole damn crate!

(Chorus and fade)

8:10 AWARD PRESENTATION (Marty G)

( sporting a rather demure James Bond style tux)

Hello all..while its no mystery that I'm gorgeous and hotter than Colin Farell, it seems that here I'm constantly under the shadow of a certain other member from Wales whose name I won't mention (S.A.)...Now, I don't understand this cause we couldn't be more different: I'm demure, he's loud...I drink wine, he loves beer...I'm romantic, and well..he's always horny. So once and for all, I'm Marty G and not the other guy from the Miscellaneous forum!!! -- Ok, now that it's out of the way, I'm presenting the award for Best Newcomer, who, according to an overwhelming amount of the voters, have brought a lot to the forum with her contribution, presence and overall enthousiam for life. The winner is !

"Breakout" Award - for Best Newcomer

Shemuse............wwwoooooooooooohhoooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

Shemuse congratulations on "Breakout" win. It's well deserved.

Well done hun, MM wouldnt be the same without you, im real pleased for you.

8:12 SONG PERFORMANCE

SILKYTOFU - "FRIENDS WE HAVEN'T MET"

Listen to audio

Lo-fi | Hi-fi

or

Friends We Haven't Met

? 2003 SilkyTofu

Verse 1

Come in and out of the rain

Sorrow's on the run

It caught an east-bound freight train

Outruns the setting sun

So you've guessed, I'm headed west

Please pull up a chair

I'll tell you 'bout my best friends

Waiting for me there

Chorus

Best friends, are friends we haven't met

They're the ones we won't forget

I believe we'll get along forever

You don't recognize them yet

Friends, are friends you haven't met

Friends like us should always stay together

Verse 2

Sue Anne in Texarkana

Wrote a song for me

And, crossing Arizona

Picked up some harmonies

A hobo, Rio Lobo

Named his dog Rusty

Said Rio?"Rusty loco"

"But he stills sings in key"

Chorus

Bridge

Me, Sue Anne, Rio, and Rusty

Have a million dreams unplanned

There's room for you in our blue Chevy Van

Chorus

["EVERYBODY SING!!!"]

8:15 AWARD PRESENTATION (LANA MAJES SOROSA)

Hey all my peeps. I'm Lana and I'm here to present a couple of awards to you. Now, these things aren't easy to come by, you understand? Oh, I had to get them myself. And oh yes, am I going to make you suffer a good ten minutes of award-show patter for my trouble! Now what could such comic fluff consist of? A tale of christmass cheer? A drunken pub story, possibly? Prehaps a tall tale? Or maybe just the tale of what happened when I went to the trophy shop...

Good evening sir. And how are you today?

"Oh, fine, fine thankyou."

*self-pointing gesture*

"Oh, and you?"

Radiant, sir. Radiant.

Looking for an award, sir? A muse's-muse award? Look at them all there, all shiny grips and polished spheres.

"Yes, they certainly are nice awards, these."

Don't you think sir would look grand with one of these awards, Kenneth?

Suit you sir.

Suit you. Ooh!

Take this one for instance. Ooh! Suit you.

"Yes, that one does look... or this one prehaps?"

Sir has expensive tastes.

"Well, I do like to keep up appearences."

Suit you, sir. Something for the ladies.

Did you go out last night, sir?

Were you out with a lady-freind, sir?

Did she want it, sir?

"I beg your pardon?!!"

Did she beg your pardon, sir?

Was she knelt at the plinth, clutching the head of a newly-won figurine, sir?

Ooh! Suit you!

"This is outrageous!"

I expect, Ken, her tongue was rolled out like the red carpet.

Most probably, Kenneth.

"Goodbye!"

Suit you, Kenneth!

Suit you, sir!

Ooh!

...

And this makes me wonder, the following quandry:

"Who could this character be, to which the two tailors of televisual fame refer?"

I give you:

"Dirrty" Award for Raunchiest Poster

HoneyBrown

Congratulations Honeybrown!

You put the "raunch" into "iest"... which, um, wouldn't be much without it really, I think...

So well done! And let's have a big hand! Careful where you put that big hand now!

And now, to introduce to you today's award winner who could've made the last featherweight recognition-based sketch which nobody much would've got the point of into a quality gut-busting comedy link...

"LMAO" Award - for Funniest Poster

Victor Smallwood

Congratulations Victor!!!

You are the victor! I can't think of anything that rhymes with "victor" right now! Woo!

Oh, and, should anyone actually laugh their ass off during any of Victor's moments, please proceed in a calm manner, either during the interval or at the end of the show, to the Ass Collection Point, to the rear of the lower garage by the back side of the bottom building, where you will need to present the security officer with your ownership of detachable ass licence, and a passport-sized office photocopy of the lost item, in order to re-establish control of your own ass.

8:20 AWARD PRESENTATION

It's hard to imagine that such a place like this- a place of magnificant beauty, intellectual brillance, dazzling spectacles; could ever.... could ever...... could ever....... could ever......

Could somebody PLEASE give this damn teleprompter a kick!!!??????

Thankyou!!!

Now, where was I? Ah, yes... the award. Oh man, I've forgotten what category was written on the card that was handed to me none-too-carefully before I strolled forth into these glaring bright lights...but yes, I just want to say how important the "Tunesmith" award is: on a writers board, there cannot be learning without the songwriting gurus who share the wisdom about the intricaties of the artform. There have been a lot of you this year, and I personally applaud you for your contributions...but since there can only be one winner, the most informative poster goes to:

"Tunesmith" Award - for Most Informative Poster - Songwriting

Yukon

Let's have a round of applause for Yukon...Now our next award is handed to the best debator off topic... and I myself have been known for enjoying a good debate. I sometimes wonder if, when a lot of people start contributing to such a discussion, it might better be known as a "Mass debate", and if so would it be likely to make those who participate go blind - but I digress.

The winner is:

"Smartass" Award - for Best Debator - Off Topic

Disposable

Congratulations Disposable! And good luck to all the nominees tonight

The winner of the...

"Oh No, You Didn't" Award - for Poster or Reviewer with Attitude

KALIE, she was something wasn't she, now which one was she? Oh, her <_<

Unfortunately because of the alignment of the planets and the full moon Kalie could not be here tonight. So I will accept this award on her behalf. No really I'm keeping it. She's not exactly in a position to do anything about it is she? Ha Ha Ha.

The next award acknowledges a duo of posters who did the best flirt or fight performance in thread. So the winner of the...

"WTF" Award - for Best Flirt or Fight Performance by a Duo in a Thread

8:22 SONG PERFORMANCE

JODI KRANGLE - "TOO SOON FOR FOREVER"

Listen to audio

Lo-Fi | Hi-Fi

Too Soon For Forever

? Jodi Krangle

Verse 1

I lie beneath the covers

Remembering your touch

And I wish I'd told you more

Though I'm afraid I said too much.

Verse 2

Did we discover something precious

Or were we answering a need?

Did it mean as much to you

As I think it meant to me?

Chorus

If I told you that I dreamt about forever

Would you laugh and tell me not to make too much of just one night

Is this feeling something I should never show

Am I just crazy not to know

That it's too soon

Too soon for forever.

Verse 3

I can tell my heart it's lying

But I don't believe it's true

'cuz a part of me already knows

Forever is too soon.

Bridge

Now I'm not the type to pledge my heart

To just a pretty face

And I know that I should try to take it slow

But there's more to this than just one night

Though it might sound insane

Nothing to lose and oh so much to gain.

Can I take the chance and risk my heart again?

Verse 4

Was there a hidden meaning

In the icy glare of dawn

As it touched upon the pillow

Cold and empty now you're gone.

Chorus

Chorus

If I told you that I dreamt about forever

Would you laugh and tell me not to make too much of just one night

Is this feeling something I should never show

Am I just crazy not to know

That it's too soon

Too soon for forever.
