So if your garden was unkempt, I suppose you could say that we'd have to pardon your garden. Oh, the humanity! You'd be in good company with my mother, she loves her garden too. And loves Canada--you're two for two!

Here's a bigger version of the 'Empire of Dirt' shot. This was taken a couple of weeks ago at Screel in Scotland. Someone obviously thought it was a good idea to pile of some rocks just to emphasise the highest point

On the contrary... just too lazy to remove it following a vocal thing. :D That Shure KSM32 gets used for a lot of stuff 'round here.

Now that you mentioned where your pile dirt is located, it jogged a memory for me about a movie from a few years back. So I did some goggling and came to the conclusion that it's not just the Scots who have a thing about mountain height, the Welsh seem to also.

I thought it was a grand little movie with subtle wit and obscure humor. I enjoyed it.

The name of the movie:

The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain

Hi John, I have often seen that type of thing but never knew it had a name - thanks Nige :)

My...that's quite a nice flower print sun dress you have there.

You certainly started songwriting at a young age.

I DID actually. I just found a copy of the first song I wrote in 1st grade . . . about unicorns and a castle!

My youngest daughter is two and she already makes up her own songs too, but they're always about DADDY!!!!!!!!!

Hey Rog,

Are you sure you don't want to buy up a few more acres and put in an 18 hole golf course on that land?

Looks like some nice scenery there.

Best of luck. :)

ciao, Dan

I would, but 2 of the nicest courses in the state are 8 and 15 miles away.

Bear Mountain

Desert Canyon

Darn...

I'm afraid I am consumed with golf these days.

What do Tiger Woods an I have in common?

Sore knees.

Hey guys, I'm Jess . . I just signed up on this board. I hope I did these pictures right.

Here's a pic from last Christmas with my cousins dog. (It was the first normal pic I could find)

Here's another one I took of Gary Allan when I was at Kenny Chesney's Poets & Pirates Tour 2008

kcconcert007.jpg

By the way Rod (I think?), that's some awesome scenery . . I can't even imagine what it feels like to own all of that.

I looooove Gary Allan, "Watching Airplanes" got me back into songwriting. I wish country music had more of an audience in Toronto so we'd get more big tours here :( I think the only non-crossover artist (ie. Faith Hill) I've ever seen in Toronto is Keith Urban and even then it was for a friggin Best Buy opening  But I know he's played some small clubs here too. Or maybe I just don't pay attention to what concerts are coming to town lol.

Pretty smile, cute puppy :D

Wow! Looking at those pics and the slope on that Bear Mountain course, no wonder you have sore knees.

That's one reason I moved down here to FL. No mountains. But that still doesn't prevent me from keeping my handicap down. :o

Or my back and hip from getting sore. :(

What a crazy way to relax, right?

Absolutely brilliant, Rod! Whatcha gonna do with it???

Hey Simon,

First, dig a well. Then the plan is to build a home.

We are looking at passive solar designs and hope to augment with solar panels and wind generators.

The idea is to be totally off the grid and independent from utility and power companies.

If we change our mind for some reason, hopefully we'll sell for a nice profit. ;)
