  1. Ruby’s Cadillac Inn James L Kleinheksel © Copyright 2017 Deep in the woods only open at night No windows just doors and they’re all locked tight A five mile drive down an old dusty trail Make a hard left by the raccoon tail Park out back and knock twice on the door Watch your step there’s a hole in floor The Cadillac Inn is the place of my birth Of all places to be born on earth An old block building all painted in black Just past the creek by the railroad track Liquor and hell raising girls and more It's like no place, you ever been before Raise a little hell Make a little sin Got knocked down, picked up And do it all again Now if you're lonely well here's a cure Just come on in your welcome for sure The locals call it the old DeVille Since it started as a moonshine still No cops reads the sign on the door They poked around for a while but not anymore No tabs or credit just pay Ruby as you go Whether you go up or stay down below Remember don't touch until you pay There are some rules ya can't disobey Dozens of bones have been broken there Of rowdy young men by Ruby and a chair You can’t use a check and she don’t take cards When you go give Ruby, my warmest regards Raise a little hell Make a little sin Got knocked down, picked up And do it all again Now if you're lonely well here's the cure Just come on in your welcome for sure So raise a little hell Make a little sin Come back soon and do it all again Original Version Marge’s Cadillac Inn James L Kleinheksel © Copyright 2015 There’s a place deep in the woods only open at night No windows just doors they’re all locked up tight A five mile drive down an old dusty trail Just make a sharp left by the raccoon tail Park out back and knock twice on the door And watch your step there’s a hole in floor The old Cadillac Inn the place of my birth Of all of the places to be born on this earth Marge’s Cadillac Inn all painted in black Just past Higgins creek by the railroad track Liquor and hell raising and girls and more Just come on inside where it's always warm Marge has been there since they opened the joint Legend says, she won it by the flip of a coin No tab or cover charge just pay Marge before you go Whether you wanna go up or stay down below Thousands of guys have passed through the door At least ninety five percent have been there before The locals have always called it the old DeVille It’s been there since the sixties just over the hill There’s a jukebox in the corner older than Marge It just keeps right on playin’ and never gets tired There’s hundreds bones been broken in there Of rowdy young cowboys by Marge and a chair No cops are allowed reads the sign on the door They came around for a while but not anymore So stop by the next time you’re feeling real bold Marge will be there to make sure you’re not rolled You can’t pay with a check and she won’t take cards Now next time you go give Marge my regards
  2. Tennessee

Tennessee James L Kleinheksel © Copyright 2016 Tennessee James L Kleinheksel © Copyright 2016 Intro I’m a long way from comin’ home to Tennessee It isn’t fair that you’re back there But there’s no one I can blame but me My mind keeps drifting back to Tennessee V Now that it’s all said and done One thing I never meant to do But my life I can’t rerun Wishin’ first I’d first thought of you Now the days keep stacking up And the past is close behind I drink my coffee from a paper cup Got one thing on my mind C There’s a day they said to me There’s a day but I can’t see I’m a long way from comin’, home to Tennessee V Every minute of every day You were always sweet and kind Then my mind will drift away Back in time when all was fine Now some days are worse than others When pain comes fast as can be I crawl back underneath the covers Hopin’ the devil forgets he found me C I'm a long way from comin home to Tennessee I got judge in my face and a lawyer on my case There’s a box full of jurors They keep staring right at me I'm a long way from comin’, home to Tennessee V All the things that shouldn't be Like the laws I thought could bend I was hopin’ no one would see Too many things I can't defend Still the days keep stacking up And the past is close behind My lawyer has a weak rebuff Only one thing on my mind C There’s a day but I can’t see There was a time when all was fine There ain’t nothin’ like being free I’m a long way from comin’ home to Tennessee Such a long way from comin’ home to Tennessee Original Version I’m a long way from comin’ home to Tennessee It isn’t fair that you’re back there But there’s no one I can blame but me My mind keeps drifting back to Tennessee Now that it’s all said and done One thing I never meant to do But my life I can’t rerun Wishin’ first I’d first thought of you Been thinkin' about the future Now it's finally here at last So I gotta live in the present But I’m dreaming of the past Now the days keep stacking up And the past is close behind I drink my coffee from a paper cup Got one thing on my mind There’s a day they said to me There’s a day but I can’t see I’m a long way from comin’, home to Tennessee Every minute of every day You were always sweet and kind Then my mind will wander away Back in time when all was fine Now some days are worse than others When pain comes fast as can be I crawl back underneath the covers Hopin’ the devil forgets he found me Now that the cards are dealt And all the money's in the pot Thought I had the world in a shell Now I’m sittin’ here left with not I'm a long way from comin home to Tennessee I got judge in my face and a lawyer on my case There’s a box full of jurors They keep staring right at me I'm a long way from comin’, home to Tennessee All the perils of dependency And a source which never ends I was hopin’ no one would see Too many things I can't defend Never do I make promises That I don’t intend to keep Ya know I didn't mean to do it It went so fast it went too deep Still the days keep stacking up And the past is close behind My lawyer has a weak rebuff Only one thing on my mind There’s a day but I can’t see There was a time when all was fine There ain’t nothin’ like being free I’m a long way from comin’ home to Tennessee Such a long way from comin’ home to Tennessee
  3. I realized that I had too much going on here to properly describe within the space constraints. I decided to drop the second person from the story and continue with only the narrator. I also created a rhyming scheme which may help it along. Locked Up Tight James L Kleinheksel © Copyright 2016 I'm here stoned drinking all alone Got all the doors locked up tight Got a lottta thoughts in my head Not even one seems to be right I’ll be sittin’ here through this fear Counting down the unused days As the end is drawing even nearer Here at home with little brown stone Wondering how long until it’s past I'm bored with life it's overblown Worried how long it’s gonna last Another dark day to waste away I’ll be sittin' here high as can be With a loaded Colt forty four Sittin’ right here next to me All the doors locked up tight Got a stack of pills in my head So I should be feelin' alright But its been such a long travail Waiting for the end of the show Maybe I’ll leave in the middle Just get right up and go Sittin' here for three days straight Don't want nobody coming inside I been runnin' around the house Got all the doors locked up tight Stayin’ right here got no place to go Got a fifth of whiskey in my hand And a head that's full o blow Now I’m racin’ like hell all around Probably gonna last until it’s light Got a tight hold on that forty four Maybe I’ll just say good night Got all the doors locked up tight One misfire and it must be a sign Ya know nothin’ ever goes right Can’t even choose the right time for dyin’ Check this out. The rhyming scheme is all over the place, but in my head, it works. So, I ask you, musicians out there let me know your thoughts. Non-musicians as well. 6. Burn Every Bridge

Burn Every Bridge James L Kleinheksel © Copyright 2017 I burned every bridge along the way But I really don't care Cuz I ain't gonna stay I'll keep on movin' from here to there Nobody ever cared, anyway So I don't care about friends I ain't ever had I don't care about authority Or my mom and dad I keep on movin' along the way Don't ever try to stop me Or get in my way Chorus I burned every bridge I ever crossed Don't look for me, I've always been lost I burned every new bridge That I ever did see There ain't nobody More cynical than me Every day there's someone new Just lookin' for someone Anyone to screw So I keep to myself Just leave me alone I'll never find a friend That's truer than me Go ahead and leave me be Chorus It's a lonely life But I really don't care There's an afterlife So you can find me there I burned every bridge, I ever did cross I shunned everyone Along the way I'm told by some There's a price I'll pay That's a cross, I'll have to bear But If you know me I really don't care
