  1. I entered the lyric for this song in the May lyric contest (which by the way had some GREAT lyrics entered) and I did so, not to just participate in the fun, but to find out if the lyric was at least close to up to par. Would love get thoughts from those who read it in the contest, as to what they heard as a read, compared to what it sounds like here put to music. Thoughts and observations appreciated a lot Pascal Oubien - Bass & percussion Raul (Figsounds) - Drums Ben Owen (Ben0) - Fiddle Simon Tomkins - Lead & acoustic guitar Christine Linge - Vocals Elvis Garagic - Producer James Tanner - Lyrics (Vs) Hiding in nooks and crannies, shadows are his friend The fog gives him a blanket, streetlights can't peek in Sirens in the distance, scream out for him tonight The darkness is his comfort, the cloak that he holds tight (Ch) It's the eve of mourning, tears fall like the rain On this eve of mourning, she's crying out in pain She's battered and bruised been hit and abused On this eve, eve of mourning (Vs) A dog is barking somewhere, car horns pierce the air a din of city voices are everywhere Hugging an alley wall, he moves along his way, followed by a figure that wants to make him pay (Ch) It's the eve of mourning, tears fall like the rain On this eve of mourning, she's crying in her pain She's battered and bruised been hit and abused On this eve.. (Bridge) He hears a sound, he turns around as the hammers coming down. He couldn't run from her father's gun that followed him through town (End Ch) It's the eve of mourning, tears fall like the rain Her Daddy's on the run the deed has been done On this eve of mourning daddy’s on the run © L. 2. "For You"

Good tune man! Definitely "The Who" vibe. I can't really comment on any technical stuff, I'll leave that to the one's who have the ear for it, but as an average listener, I liked it. Nice work
  3. Hey You

Sounds good. I think the vocals could come up a tad, but that may be subjective. Like what ya got going on for sure
  4. May Regular Lyrics Contest

Congrats Fabkebab! I was thinking you were going to win, or that "Everywhere A Party" might. There were some really good entries in this contest, and I enjoyed reading them all and participating. "It Sucks To Be You" and Country Jones" were two I (personally) really liked also, plus...well..lets just say again, there were some mighty fine lyrics in this! Thanks for the read and votes!
  5. Hey, Liam..I love it, and Christine is great to work with, a genuinely nice person who is extremely talented. Really like your work too! I did "Wilted Rose" with her, that you'll find down the list a bit. Anyone is lucky to have her in their collaboration. Good work to you all
  6. Thanks for this post. Same thing was happening to me
  7. Sounds good, I think it could make a good soundtrack
  8. Are You Out There?

Good song Cindy! Good concept and introspective/thoughtful lyric. Nice!
  9. Wilted Rose

Thanks a bunch lyriCAL. I'm a small fish in this pond (collaboration) and I feel lucky to be part of it. I think they are very talented
  10. Wilted Rose

Thanks David, It has went through a few changes.... I'm glad you said that about the metaphor, I wanted her to not care if it was cliched or not. I have about half a CD now of songs I've done with Christine, and I am going to pitch this one and at least one other.....I didn't even notice the left, right speaker thing until you said it. That is cool! Thanks again man.
  11. Wilted Rose

Thank you for listening and commenting Beilka. I welcome you. I have been away awhile and in and out of the forums sporadically because of life things myself
  12. Wilted Rose

Thanks for the listen and nice comment Chaz. I forgot to list Christine as the music writer, I edited the post to show that.
  13. The encounter - bielka

Really nice song! Love the vibe and feel. The only thing I thought it might have needed is the bass up a tad, but that could be subjective. Really really like your vocal also. Well done!
  14. (Mandoman) – Mandolin Markus Lammarsch – Strings Markus Lammarsch – Mix/Mastering Wilted Rose (Vs) Sometimes in the night I hear you whisper to me; feel your warm breath on my neck the way it used to be, but when I awake, its back to my nightmare; My dreams are only dreams, you’re no longer there (Ch) I can feel the thorn of the wilted rose, cutting deep to the core Still clinging on to the wilted rose and the thorn hurts even more It might be a poor metaphor, but it’s the one I’ve chose I can’t stop clinging to a wilted rose (Vs) There will come a time, I won’t miss you like I do, but I’m not ready for closure yet, my grieving isn’t through (Ch) I can feel the thorn of the wilted rose, cutting deep to the core Still clinging on to the wilted rose and the thorn hurts even more It might be a poor metaphor, but it’s the one I’ve chose I can’t stop clinging to a wilted rose (Ch) I can feel the thorn of the wilted rose, cutting deep to the core Still clinging on to the wilted rose and the thorn hurts even more It might be a poor metaphor, but it’s the one I’ve chose I can’t stop clinging to a wilted rose I can’t stop clinging to our wilted rose Never letting go of our wilted rose 2016 © L. 15. Half-Empty op.1 no.8

Sounds like this could be a good soundtrack or slideshow piece. As I listened I thought maybe you could think about throwing in a bigger change up somewhere in there for contrast, an upswing in music for a bit that settles back down into the tune. Enjoyable peaceful tune though
