  1. From my experience Interaction with the audiance works well... But some times in a bar it can get a bit wierd when ya have to deal with drunk people who want to hear things your not playing... Thats why we mix in covers in our sets... Taking command of the stage through great music is another way... ya just have to bring it and let there be no doubt that your the center of attention...
  2. You guys are awesome!!! thanks!!!! LTH
  3. The best Thing to do is go to guitar center and spend an hour or two playing some guitars.... take your time... I get lost in that place my wife has to come get me and drag me out by my ear...
  4. I'm not quite sure what to think of this one but the point is I'm trying to get good at mixing and this is all I have left to mix for now... I really tried to get the snare to have a nice crack and to make sure the kick was there strong... being a guitar player.... I tried to make sure the guitar wasn't to loud... sorry for the couple of timing mistakes it is with the drums as the timing of this lick is wicked and fast... Oh yeah I took the low end out of the guitar to bring out the bass but the guitar sounds thin to me... any thoughts on how I can learn to mix better? the song is "road runner" http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10102941&q=hi&newref=1 LTH
  5. This has been a tough issue for me.... I think the part about making crits that I feel I'm not qualified to make... It's what keeps me off the lyrics board.... I just don't use that board for that reason and I desperately need that... I'm a half way decent guitar player but lyrically not so great... thats why I can make crits on the song board... even there I struggle with crits... But I do the best I can... but this place has helped me alot especially RLD... LTH
  6. Thanks for the compliments! Hope you enjoyed it I really enjoy making music with my bro... LTH

  8. My brother and I write about 3-4 songs a year together... just wanted to share cause I thought it was different... i thought it had interesting guitar work.. the name of the song is come inside... http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10090500&q=hi peace... LTH
  9. What do you guys think of the drum mix? got a bass player coming in friday and I want to make sure i have the drums mixed right.. still got to redo the rthythm and lead guitars and i know the drums aren't perfect either but it's the best i have right now....It's a templet for a song in progress... the song is get up mix 2... not sure why but on my recording program the drums sound better than the mp3 that i mixed down... http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=9976725&q=hi&newref=1 LTH
  10. Thanks dude... http://www.youtube.com/user/lth68?feature=mhum
  11. Hey... Looking for a vocalist/song writer to put some lyrics to some of my guitar riffs... Looking for someone who is really laid back and easy to work with... the style is going to be hard rock GNR type to pearl jam... I putting together a music project to open for my brothers band who is out of LA... the music is going to be very guitar driven with nasty guitar leads with a hard driven, in the pocket rhythm section...It would be a plus if this person was from WA state... Looking for positive fun lyrics but not sappy love songs ect... singing about an old pair of cool sunglasses stuff like that light hearted but driven...if the collaboration works out after a couple of songs we can work out the details.... This person should have a love for the type of music style.... If you are interested, write me an e-mail describing: 1. why you love music 2.why you write songs 3.what your goals are as a song writer.... 4. what your influences are 5. tell me about yourself... how old you are... tell me about your experiences as a song writer/vocalist 6. send me some of your work... vocal performances any thing like that... Note: this project is going to take several months to put together... thanks, Michael Some of my work definately on the light side of things http://www.youtube.com/user/lth68?feature=mhum mzuercher_7@msn.com
  12. Keep them coming bro.... it helped me out a lot
  13. Yeah that helps.... I tend to stay where I am comfortable and that is in the penitonic minors... I do mix up The P minors and the majors but not as much as I should... I think where this vid helped me is to remind me thatI need to practice my major modes and get more comfortable there...I do practice my major modes but It gets really boring after a while... dude if you have backing tracks you would let go I would love to practice to those if your into it... Love the way you play man... you ROCK... thanks RLD LTH
  14. Thanks bro.... that will give me some things to work on and read up on... not sure how to do all that but thats what the help button is for.. LOL
  15. The cymbals are definately in your face... at this point because we did not record all the drum parts seperate (as per what funk daddy was talking about) I have no way of adjusting the levels on the cymbals.... the only way I can think of is turning the drums down or trying to compress them... do you have any other idea's besides re recording them? not sure what your talking about supporting drums with samples... I listened really carefully to what you were saying with the eq on the guitars... I 'm just not sure what instrument to subtract eq from... I'm wondering if the rythem guitar and the bass are clouding the kick... and if that could be a panning issue as well... I'm at the peak of my skill at this point... any thoughts LTH
