  1. Thanks Tom, I am not a "composer". I am a guy that plays instruments and records stuff. no dots on the lined paper. no real reason except I think it sounds good. Good luck though man :-)
  2. not sure if I ever posted this here. Anyways, thought some of you might like this. Pretty mellow.

    THIS is the question . . .

There's your problem right there... I think LOS is a man...a crossdresser to be exact...probably going through the sex change thing......ya know? all those hormone shots cursing through his/her system... well...that would explain most things anyways.... and one more thing...to answer LOS's question of me in another thread that was locked.... What am I? I am a man... a father... a lover to my soulmate... a realist... and a musician... I write songs...because I can...

pointedly spiteful?? you are way off base...I am being realistic... you are the one living in a fantasy world.... you might want to toughen that skin of yours.....it might come in handy in regards to your futue "accomplishments"... I thought it might be a mistake to express an opinion that was unpopular... but, I don't think so anymore.

    Theme Discussion

I can't answer your questions for anyone eles, but I can offer my own answer. 1. Why? good question...not so good answers.... a. It's good to have a concrete manifestation of the songwriting community we all take part in as creatives/talkers and sqwawkers... This can also be facilitated as an online project without the cost and aggravation of manufacturing a CD.... b. It's exciting to produce something that didn't exist before... That's a given... c. It's a kind of proof of the Muse community spirit. The last cd came together from a lot of effort from a group of people. My small part was to make the deadline and to be delighted to have my song accepted. Oh, and I also bought 5 and did a little city radio spiel on internet songwriting where I mentioned the CD. and how many CDs do you know sold due to your marketing effort? d. The last CD was an example of how an on line songwriting community can be real. lol!.......it's as real as people want it to be... phony personas and manifested accomplishments seem to abound... The music/songs are real though.... e. The second could take it up a level to a songwriting community getting it together to produce to a theme sure...why not... f. The big issue of the day is the environment. The last cd was called Planet Muse. Make it planet Muse 2 and all songs relating to the environment/planet. This gives huge scope creatively and as I said before such a theme has a niche market too. The theme allows scope for anything from political rant to 'what a wonderful world' typoe stuff. It can be subsequently advertised on many environmentalist issue sites. Your big issue of the day is the enviroment....... to some people it's the war... to others.....worldwide hunger and/or poverty... and others might feel that Geoncide in places like Dafur are more important than the enviroment...so no....the big issue of the day is whatever you care about....but, I doubt that you'll have many upbeat songs written for any of these oh so sad issues... Wannabe artists are two a penny. Wannabe artists struggling to say something on something that matters to everyone and to future generations is not so common. you have got to be kidding? if this was the 60's and your name was Bob Dylan then I would agree...but, it's not the 60's....and no...there are thousands of artists who write mostly political tunes....what THEY feel is important...their agenda...not always the audience's though... You can find most of them at open mics....but not at paying gigs... I don't think people buy music to be sad....they are looking for a lift....not a let down. Community publishing projects are NOT vanity publishing projects....there is nothing essentially egocentric about a group of people getting together to display their talents. It's what we do all the time on the Muse. lol! If you don't think that this is a vanity project...you are delusional... I'm not for false humility or hiding lights under bushels. Just because we are not Gershwin or Lennon or Dolly Parton doesn't mean our talents are better kept out of sight...We all post our stuff....we all believe we've got 'something' or we wouldn't bother... hahahahaha! ok....ok.....sorry to laugh but....you have got to be kidding.. How modest.... You got to get your stuff out there to be listened to somehow. Even if it only results in you discovering you don't really cut it to stand out from the crowd.... yes...get your stuff out there...but who the hell is gonna listen to it?...and even more important...who will buy it? This project needs to target a demograhic and stear towards marketing to that chosen demographic if the goal is to be successful.... and don't kid yourself... the only sure proof of success is sales... To tell you all the truth...I considered the first project a vanity project from the onset to fruition... and I have my one copy...and that's all I ever expected. Whatever you guys decide...I do want to wish you all the luck in the world. Be cool, Joe

  8. Yes Ram....they make a glass master from the disk Ulli sends..... then there are various stages to get to the stamper.... sorry to offend............. Thank goodness it will be done soon....eh?
  9. damn dude ...............you don't know sh ite..........do you? why don't you just keep your yap shut till it's done........
  10. OK Ram....... Here's the scoop...... Since I was not there to push it through (heart attack)...my company just sat on the project once I was out sick......even after I called them several times to inquire as to it's status. It's just another printing job to them......and a very small one to boot. As a matter of fact...it still isn't quite finished. I picked it up yesterday...it still needs to trim fold and perf. Ulli has the printed material now and I am sure she will get it where it needs to be asap. Ulli & Bubbles have done their best to finish this project along with handling their own busy lives. There are times when things happen...or don't happen and they have no control over these issues. So I would suggest that you volunteer yourself for the next project and walk a mile in their shoes. peace and love? yeah......right........
