If you want to find some Sound Effects (a bird song, a baby crying, a police siren or whatever), you can always try https://freesound.org/browse/

These are free to use - Freesound is a collaborative database of Creative Commons Licensed sounds. Browse, download and share sounds. You need to register to download.

Some are better than others, but you can audition them in your browser!

I am sure there are other free sound libraries people can recommend!

Don't forget public domain! There are tons of speeches and historic moments, not to mention old music archives that are available as well. Silly me deleted my audio bookmarks... god I'm gonna cry, I had so many... I had lots of great audio resources saved including collections of poetry being read by different people in different languages around the world....

Anyway, this kind of stuff is a treasure trove for sample artists and audio graffiti experts. :P

Here are some links to get you started:

Good advice - I've been using freesound for years. They even have orchestral instrument libraries that are pretty decent quality.
